EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt says concerns about the future of the agency among staff is due to the administration’s “change of direction” but he told “Fox & Friends” during an April 13 appearance that he hopes to give employees confidence in the new direction.
“There’s been a change of direction at the EPA,” Pruitt said. “You see a . . . concern about what’s happened over the last eight years, to some of them — and we’ll give confidence to the folks that are there,” he added. “We’re not going to prejudge, we’ll give them the direction we’re going and hopefully they will respond positively.”
His comments came one day after the White House issued guidance for EPA and other agencies to ramp up workforce reductions by accelerating early retirements and other efforts.
