States, Industry Give Initial Nod to EPA Online Reporting Tools

The EPA says its new electronic reporting tools will make interactions with states and industry “smarter, better and faster.” With only a few reservations, states and businesses tend to agree.
Environmental Protection Agency staff showed off nascent projects for streamlining hazardous waste reporting, emissions reporting, environmental monitoring and e-commerce at a science fair-style event with the Environmental Council of the States April 5.
“We are trying to modernize the business of environmental protection,” said Alexandra Dunn, executive director of the Environmental Council of the States, which is facilitating initial communications among EPA and the states.
