Update – JR Simplot Ranger Russet variety (X17) and Atlantic variety (Y9) Potatoes, genetically engineered for late blight resistance, low acrylamide potential, lowered reducing sugars, and reduced black spot – The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has “… extended deregulation to [these] two lines of [GE] potatoes …” and has released its final finding of no significant impact (FONSI) – This extension is “… based upon APHIS’ determination of nonregulated status of its antecedent organism: JR Simplot’s potato event, W8 Russet Burbank potatoes, [which] was deregulated on September 2, 2015 …”
